Telework Coalition Assembles Panels of Acknowledged Experts to Discuss the Whys, and Hows of Using American Work@Home™ Contact Center Agents

Washington, DC (PRWeb) January 17, 2007 -- The Telework Coalition (TelCoa, www.TelCoa.org), a non-profit advocacy group, headquartered in Washington DC has announced the panelists participating in the Work@Home™ sessions of the Call Center 2.0 Conference being held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, January 25 and 26. The conference will be collocated with the Internet Telephony Conference and Expo, presented by the Technology Marketing Corporation, TMC.

"There are currently approximately 150,000 Work@Home™ Contact Center agents employed in the United States. This number could approach 500,000 by 2010," commented Jack Heacock, Senior Vice President of TelCoa. "As more employers acknowledge the many benefits of having their employees work at home, this number could grow even more. An additional dynamic is the number of other enterprise workers who participate in corporate Work@Home™ programs initiated by their Contact Centers," he added.

According to Chuck Wilsker, President & CEO of TelCoa, "when employers send Contact Center jobs offshore, they soon realize the dissatisfaction of their clients and customers, but still need to keep their costs low. This is when, the Work@Home™ option increasingly makes more sense. Reduced real estate costs, increased productivity, and increased employee retention are only a few of the costs and benefits that will show a positive increase on the bottom line. Business continuity and disaster avoidance are additional reasons that a growing number of Contact Centers have started to have employees work from home," Wilsker concluded.

Topics to be covered include necessary technologies, information security, financial benefits, human resources, training, and opportunities for hiring rural, older, and disabled workers, including service disabled veterans. A very popular and informative double session called "Ask the Chiefs" will enable the attendees to ask questions of the leaders of many of the country's foremost Work@Home™ organizations.
